The Berlin plant equipped black powder for the US Navy from WWI as a result of Vietnam. Smokeless powder was the primary gunpowder for the duration of these decades, but numerous artillery shells and aerial bombs utilized black powder within their ignition devices. The US Military procured about eight million kilos of black powder from 1967-1968.
